In the shadow of the moon coat
A handwoven garment, made in collaboration with Applied Arts Studio
The pattern for this coat is new, derived from a treasured staple now over eight years old and reimagined to fit the narrower width of this fabric. Quiet tailoring gently hugs the silhouette, sleeves fall straight, pockets are tucked inside side seams and ten covered buttons with rouleau loops run down the center front, each sewn and covered with the same inky organic cotton that lines the interior body.
70% alpaca, 30% virgin wool.
The Alpaca fiber is undyed and sourced from Peru. Natural black alpacas are incredibly rare (only 0.03% of alpaca produced). The virgin wool fiber is sourced from Australia, spun and dyed at a family-owned mill in New Hampshire.
